This shard carries the essence of Andariel, the Maiden of Anguish, spreading pain and torment.

Abilities:

  • Aura of Torment: Creatures within 15 feet take 3d6 psychic damage at the start of each of their turns unless they succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw.
  • Venomous Strike: Add 3d6 poison damage to weapon attacks.
  • Blighted Touch: Cast blight (DC 18) once per long rest.

Cursed Power:

The wielder gains vulnerability to psychic damage and suffers disadvantage on all Charisma saving throws.

Awakened Power:

Upon reaching 0 hit points, the wielder releases a 20-foot-radius cloud of poison, dealing 6d6 poison damage to creatures inside. Usable once per week.

Destroying the Essence of Anguish:

It must be purified in a sacred river while a celestial being recites a prayer of peace over the shard.
